We all love winter’s sweeping seasonal highs filled with hot cocoa, comfy clothes, snowy walks, and warm blankets; however, just as we bundle up to step out into the cold, our skin needs some protection, too.
Winter months have us walking through freezing air and blasting the indoor heaters in our cars and homes, which cause our skin to become dry, itchy, and irritable. That’s why keeping healthy winter skin is a real challenge, but don’t worry; we have a few tips that help you maintain your skin’s moisture.
Hydrate as soon as you wake up. Without enough water intake, our skin can become drier and duller, and fine lines are more prominent to come into the mix. Drinking water first thing in the morning, especially before your coffee or tea, will aid in flushing out toxins, helping the skin become more plump and radiant.
2. Use a soft cleanser
During the winter season, switch to a moisturizing cleanser that can help to hydrate dry skin and support its barrier to help protect it from the damaging effects of the cold weather. A gentle cleanser, like Jess Beauty’s Face Reset Cleanser, is a great option that won’t strip skin of its natural oils, supporting a healthy moisture barrier while calming redness and inflammation.
3. Don’t forget to moisturize
Make sure to moisturize your face daily (and several times a day), and give your skin the boost of moisture it needs with our Twin Momma Belly Balm. A blend of plant-derived butters — Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Argan Oil, Avocado Oil & Sunflower Oil- deliver deep moisture and help lock in lasting hydration. And don’t forget the sunscreen; a daily dose of SPF 30 will keep skin covered, even on cold, cloudy days.
4. Add Niacinamide to your skincare routine
