What is vitamin A?

Vitamin A is a widely present ingredient in skincare formulations, although it may be known by other names, including retinol, retinaldehyde, or tretinoin (retinoic acid). It is a natural and powerful ingredient that works by penetrating the skin and promoting cell renewal at a deeper level. Gradually, it encourages the removal of dead skin cells while also stimulating new cell growth, which can help to diminish imperfections and enhance the appearance of the skin.


It is generally advised to apply vitamin A in all its forms at night, as UV light can potentially reduce its effectiveness when exposed to it during the day. It may also be helpful to use sunscreen in the morning to reinforce the effects.
