What is Salicylic Acid?

Salicylic acid is a commonly used ingredient in skin care products due to its exfoliating and anti-inflammatory properties. It is a type of beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) found naturally in the bark of the white willow tree (Salix alba), although it can also be synthesized in the laboratory.

Salicylic Acid is known for its ability to penetrate the pores of the skin and gently exfoliate dead cells from the surface. This helps clear clogged pores, prevent the formation of blackheads, and reduce the appearance of skin blemishes such as acne and whiteheads.

In addition to its exfoliating action, salicylic acid also has anti-inflammatory properties. Helps reduce inflammation and redness associated with acne and other conditions. This makes it an effective ingredient for treating acne and skin prone to irritation and inflammation.

Benefits:

Exfoliating: Salicylic acid penetrates the pores, exfoliating dead skin cells and unclogging them, promoting smoother skin.

Anti-Inflammatory: It reduces redness and inflammation associated with acne and other skin conditions.
