What is Meadowfoam Oil?

Meadowfoam oil is extracted from the seeds of the meadowfoam plant (Limnanthes alba), which is native to the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is rich in omega-3 fatty acids (eicosapentaenoic acid 61% and docosahexaenoic acid 16%).

The feel of Meadowfoam Seed Oil on the skin is unique and different from many other natural oils due to the chemistry of its fatty acids. These fatty acids contain more carbon atoms than those found in edible oils (soybean, almond, sunflower, and olive oil). As a result, Meadowfoam Seed Oil provides excellent emollience without being too greasy or oily.

Benefits:

Moisturizing: Meadowfoam oil is an excellent moisturizer that deeply hydrates the skin without leaving a greasy residue.

Non-Comedogenic: It is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores, making it suitable for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin.

Skin Barrier Protection: Meadowfoam oil strengthens the skin's natural barrier, protecting it from environmental stressors.

Emollient: It softens and increases moisture retention, creating a barrier that locks in hydration and keeps the skin soft and supple.
