 What is green tea extract?

Green tea extract is derived from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Rich in polyphenols, particularly catechins, green tea extract is known for its potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. It has been widely used in both traditional medicine and modern skincare due to its numerous benefits for the skin.

Benefits:

Antioxidant Protection: Rich in antioxidants, particularly EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), which helps to protect the skin from free radical damage caused by UV radiation and pollution. This reduces the signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles.

Anti-inflammatory: Helps to reduce redness, swelling, and irritation. It is particularly beneficial for soothing conditions like acne, rosacea, and eczema.

Anti-acne: Contains antimicrobial properties that can help to reduce acne by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause pimples. It also helps to regulate sebum production, reducing the occurrence of breakouts.

Moisturizing: Helps to retain moisture and prevent dryness in the skin barrier.

Anti-aging: The antioxidants in green tea extract stimulate the production of collagen, improving skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Brightening: Its regular use can help to even out skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation, resulting in a brighter and more radiant complexion.

Protection Against UV Damage: Green tea extract can help to protect the skin from UV damage and reduce the risk of skin cancer when used in conjunction with sunscreen.
