What is the Epidermal Growth Factor

It is a naturally occurring protein in the body that plays a key role in cell growth, tissue repair and skin regeneration. In skin care, synthetic or bioengineered versions of epidermal growth factor (EGF) are used to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, two important proteins that keep skin firm, smooth and youthful.

Benefits:

Promotes cell renewal and healing: EGF stimulates the growth of new skin cells, which helps repair damaged skin and helps skin recover from scars, wounds, environmental stressors, injuries, and skin healing after procedures (such as laser treatments or chemical peels).

Promotes the production of collagen and elastin: By doing so, it increases the firmness of the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in firmer, more youthful looking skin.

Reduces hyperpigmentation: Through its regenerative properties, EGF helps lighten dark spots and even skin tone, making it beneficial for individuals with pigmentation issues.

Improves skin hydration: By supporting the skin's natural repair processes, EGF can help strengthen the skin's barrier, which improves moisture retention and prevents dehydration.
