What is Jojoba Oil?

Jojoba Oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant (Simmondsia chinensis). Jojoba is native to arid regions of North America, such as the southwestern United States and Mexico.

Although it is commonly called "oil", it is a waxy liquid. Its main active ingredient is liquid wax ester, a structure that mimics the composition of human sebum and, for this reason, is extremely compatible with the skin as it provides effective hydration without clogging pores.

It also contains antioxidants and vitamin E, which are beneficial and help moisturize the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. Its unique composition makes it useful for balancing sebum production which is beneficial for both people with dry skin and those with oily or acne-prone skin.

Jojoba Oil is found in a wide variety of beauty products, from facial cleansers and moisturizers to shampoos and conditioners. It is especially popular in products intended for deep moisturizing and balancing oily skin and hair.

Benefits:

Similarity to Human Sebum: Due to its chemical composition, which is similar to human sebum - the natural oil produced by our skin - makes it a unique and suitable component for skin care.

Moisturizing and Nourishing: It is an excellent moisturizer; it hydrates and softens. It can be used on all skin types, even the most sensitive.

Sebum Regulating: Despite being an oil, it has sebum regulating properties. It can help balance oil production in the skin, making it a popular choice for people with oily skin.

Nutrient-rich: Contains vitamin E, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, and provides nourishing and protective properties for the skin.
